Scenario
You are a senior psychologist working for a consulting company called Global Psyche. The Directors of GoldMine company approached you because they realised that the company was not doing well in international trade and needed some form of appraisal system to monitor the work performance of the employees at entry-level. After some consultations with the Directors of GoldMine company, you decided that a team of psychologists from Global Psyche should design and implement a three-month training programme to help employees at entry-level improve their output. The outputs of the employees would be monitored by means of the Performance Management System (PMS).
However, the implementation of the training programme and the PMS was a challenge. Some employees had negative feelings about the training program. In addition, the trade union representatives maintained that the PMS was not fair to some of the employees, due to the nature of their jobs.
